My Story

I've worn locs three different times in my life - each set marking a chapter of growth, change, and self-discovery. What started as a personal style choice and means of self expression quickly became something deeper; a sacred practice in patience, identity and care.

I'm a self taught loc artist specializing in the crochet method. I fell in love with the precision, durability, and gentleness of the technique - not just for how it looks, but how it honors each person's crown in its natural state. Over the years, I've worked quietly and intentionally, learning through hands-on experience and listening to the needs of each head and heart that has sat in my chair. In addition, my personal locs are 100% self maintained.

At Loc & Roll, this work goes beyond styling. It's about offering care, building confidence, and encouraging you to express your truest self - whether you're starting fresh or maintaining your journey. You deserve to feel rooted, seen, and celebrated.

Let's loc and roll.

With love,

Mady

Crochet

A tool based method that instantly forms or tightens locs by pulling in loose hair with a small crochet hook. Great for clean, long lasting results without product. Ideal for all hair types, especially straighter textures.

Interlocking

A technique that threads the end of the loc through the root to tighten new growth. It creates a secure base and is perfect for active lifestyles or finer hair. Results last longer between maintenance sessions.

Palm Rolling

A traditional method of rolling the hair between the palms to encourage natural loc formation and maintain shape. Best for early stage locs and softer textures. Requires consistent upkeep to train the locs over time. I use the palm rolling technique to help shape crocheted locs as well as tighten up any frizziness along the outside of the loc.
